Odoo 19: AI really arrives in the ERP

Odoo Experience 2025 wrapped yesterday at Brussels Expo. While Odoo 18 (October 2024) introduced targeted predictive AI in CRM and inventory, Odoo 19 makes AI a transversal layer across the whole platform.

Probably the most ambitious release since v15.

AI Agents: assistants that act

The headline feature. AI Agents no longer just answer questions about your data — they can execute actions:

  • "Create a sales opportunity for contact Boucherie Dupont, estimated value €8,000, follow-up on Oct 15."
  • "Find all invoices over 30 days late and send an automated reminder."
  • "Generate a margin report by product category for Q3."

The agent understands the request, navigates your Odoo data, and triggers the matching actions. For an SMB owner who doesn't have the reflex to dig through 4 menus, that's a radical usage shift.

Natural-language search

Type a sentence, Odoo converts it to filters automatically. No more clicking 3 dropdowns to find "orders over €1,000 delivered last week that aren't yet invoiced". Just type, it filters.

Small detail but life-changing — especially for occasional users who haven't memorized Odoo's menu tree.

Live meeting transcription

Odoo 19 natively integrates real-time meeting transcription, with auto-generated summaries. Combined with AI Agents, picture this:

Sales meeting → auto transcript → agent extracts actions → creates tasks in CRM → assigns to the right people.

No magic — just a tool chain that talks to itself. Exactly the kind of workflow we help build today.

Content generation

AI can now generate product pages, landing pages, email templates straight from a prompt. "Generate a homepage for our catering service, warm tone, focus on local products." → Odoo Website page ready to edit.

For SMBs without a dedicated marketing team, this is a real accelerator. Just don't automate everything — the human touch still differentiates in B2B.

What about the basics?

Beyond AI, Odoo 19 also brings:

  • Smart Studio: AI-prompt-based custom field generation
  • AI server actions: smart automated workflows
  • Design: cleaner interface, simplified navigation
  • ESG / Compliance: new modules for sustainability reporting (increasingly required in European B2B)
  • Cross-cutting improvements: sales, e-commerce, accounting, HR, inventory

Migrate or wait?

For Odoo 17 or 18 customers, the question is real. Our take:

  • If you're on 18: not urgent. v18 is solid and predictive AI is already there. Migrating to 19 makes sense if you have a strong use case for the conversational agent or AI content.
  • If you're on 17 or earlier: now is the time. The improvement curve from 17 to 19 is significant.
